Free D.C.-Area Cab Rides Offered For St. Patty's Day

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A nonprofit group is offering free cab rides in the Washington region on St. Patrick's Day to combat drunk driving.

The Washington Regional Alcohol Program is offering free cab rides beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, St. Patrick's Day, through 4 .m. Friday.

Last St. Patrick's Day over 500 people used the service.

Anyone who needs a cab ride can call 1-800-200-TAXI and get a cab ride worth up to $30.

Celebrants can use the service in Washington, Montgomery and Prince George's counties and in northern Virginia.
