BLOG: Spring Fever Alert

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The rain has come and is now going. Even though the rain came down briefly heavy Wednesday morning, the amounts were nothing like the last two storms. We averaged between .3"-.75" rainfall total around the state. Now that the storm is leaving, here comes the warm-up.

Clouds will mix with some sunshine as we move through the day as temperatures climb to near 60 degrees. And that is just the beginning. For St. Patrick's Day tomorrow, we are going into the low 60s with a lot more sunshine and then all the way up to the mid 70s on Friday! A spring fever alert is in place.

A new storm will move our way from the northwest Friday into Saturday. There is not a whole lot of moisture with this one. Expect some clouds to move in ahead of it, then a few showers with the front when it moves through Friday night into Saturday morning. Cooler air will follow the front, however, the cooler air is still above average. We are going to top out in the mid 60s on Saturday and still the upper 50s for the first day of spring - Sunday.

This weather pattern shift that features warmer air will continue into at least the first half of next week. Expect another big warm-up Tuesday before another storm moves our way and changes things again mid-week.

Since I won't be here tomorrow, I wanted to wish everyone a very happy and safe St. Patty's Day! Slainte!
