BALTIMORE (WJZ) — One of America’s biggest cities has its eye on Baltimore Schools CEO Dr. Andres Alonso.

WJZ’s media partner, the Baltimore Sun, reports Alonso’s success in the Baltimore City schools has drawn attention from Chicago Public Schools.

Chicago’s former school superintendent Arne Duncan left his seat vacant to become U.S. Secretary of Education.

Alonso’s contract expires in June, but he’s not commenting on future plans.

Maybe he should stay somewhere long enough to see if his plans really works or is it smoke and mirrors. Baltimore City has seen many quick fixes look great momentarily only to discover that mid and long term they fail.

Dr.Alonso has created poor plan with mimimal change in the educational hopes for Baltimore City school students for the future. Teachers have been fired, assaulted, bamboozled and underepresented by their Union. Today , he stands as just another face to defraud those who believe that one person can change the state of todays education system. I hope that the children of Chicage do not receive yet another face on the wall, a six fuure salary deficit with no change in their soci- ecomoic status which truly is the real cancer eating at the education systems of all of America’s schools.
