Md.'s Rep. Bartlett Says He'll Run For 11th Term

EMMITSBURG, Md. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Roscoe Bartlett says he will seek an 11th term representing Maryland's 6th Congressional District.

Bartlett told The Associated Press after an event in Emmitsburg on Friday that he will file for re-election at the earliest opportunity.

Joseph Krysztoforski of Baltimore County announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination earlier this week. The retired businessman is a perennial challenger for the seat.

Bartlett is 84 and will 86 on Election Day in 2012.

The oldest member of Congress is 87-year-old Republican Rep. Ralph Hall of Texas.
