Western Md. Man Badly Burned In House Fire

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a Hagerstown man is recovering from second- and third-degree burns he sustained in an accidental house fire.

A spokeswoman at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore said Monday that 30-year-old Brent Fearnow was in good condition following the fire Sunday evening.

Hagerstown Fire Chief Kyd Dieterich says Fearnow was burned on his hands and legs by a fire that started in the garage of his home on Outer Drive.

Dieterich says the city fire marshal is still investigating the cause of the blaze.

He says the fire damaged the garage and its contents, including a fiberglass boat, and part of the single-family home.
