State Police Continue Search For Missing College Student; Rally

WAYLAND, N.Y. (AP) — State police say they have no new information as they continue the search for a 21-year-old college student from Maryland who went missing after leaving his off-campus apartment in suburban Rochester more than a week ago.

Rochester Institute of Technology student George Delany was last seen on Saturday, March 12. He told his roommates he’d be “right back,” but no one has seen him since.

State troopers searched on foot and by helicopter Tuesday over 250 acres in Steuben County where Delany’s car was abandoned.

Students at RIT held a rally Tuesday to keep people focused on the case and try to generate new leads. Classmates also put up a Facebook page seeking information on where Delany might be.

Delany is a junior political science major from Frederick, Md.

I can assure you holding a rally to talk about finding this person or making a facebook page isn’t going to help find this young man. You’ll do a lot more good for the cause by simply walking and looking.

This will end badly I’m afraid.
