ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — A group of senators wants to give Maryland’s four Medal of Honor recipients a free ride when they renew their driver’s licenses or car registrations.

The Senate is set to debate a measure Thursday that would bar the Motor Vehicle Administration from charging recipients of the nation’s highest military honor for their standard renewals. The measure would save honorees the $30 MVA charges to renew driver’s licenses and $128 it charges to renew car registrations.

What an insult. They should receive a helluva lot more than that puny gesture. How about no state or federal income tax for the rest of their life & a guranteed federal pension that their wives can enjoy for the children they leave behind because most MOH winners receive it posthumously.

Bernie’s got it right…The LEAST they can do!

Politicians make me want to puke. I bet these senators are running around slapping each other on their collective backs and saying, “look at how much we care about our war heroes, we are going to give them a $158 break…” What an insult! I agree with Bernard. These soldiers are true heroes and most likely made it possible for multiple generations of families to continue their presence here on Earth.
