O'Malley To Join D.C.-Area Leaders At AIDS Summit

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley is scheduled to join Washington-area leaders at a summit on reducing rates of HIV and AIDS.

The event starts at 9 a.m. Friday at the Marriott Inn in East Hyattsville.

It's hosted by the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS.

District of Columbia Mayor Vincent Gray and Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker plan to attend, along with clergymen, health experts and service providers. The goal is to develop a coordinated regional strategy to fight the disease.
