Interim President Named For Towson University

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Towson University's provost will become the school's interim president.

The decision was announced in an email sent Monday.

Marcia G. Welsh has served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Towson since 2009.

Welsh is to begin her new duties April 20. She replaces Robert L. Caret, who is leaving to lead the University of Massachusetts System. A search committee has already begun looking for a permanent replacement.
