Ex-CFO Sentenced To 6 Years For Theft, Forgery

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Washington County Circuit Court judge has sentenced the former chief financial officer of an alarm company to six years in prison for stealing more than $900,000 from his employer. 

Curtis Pietro, 51, must report for his sentence on April 4. He must also make restitution to Glessner Alarm & Communications. 

Pietro had pleaded guilty to theft scheme and forgery and uttering in December. 

According to a statement of facts, Pietro, the company's vice president of finance, had been paying himself twice. Pietro also was funneling money into his own American Express account. 

Deputy State's Attorney Joseph Michael said at sentencing Tuesday that Pietro lived an extravagant lifestyle that included trips abroad and expensive purchases such as a house and jewelry.
