Health Officials Warn Of Salmonella From Sausage

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Local and state health officials and the USDA have been investigating an outbreak of salmonella in Frederick County.

Officials say the illnesses have been linked to sausage at a pancake breakfast earlier this month in Thurmont.

Authorities say sausage for that event came from a country butchering event on Jan. 27 at the Mount Pleasant Ruritan Club.

The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene tested sausage from the butchering event and found it to contain salmonella.

Health officials say any sausage from the January butchering event should be discarded.
