  2. PeopleDoStupidShlt says:

Why are the police the ones puting up the reward??

  3. AT says:

What morons rob a jewelery store in the mall? Oh well, I wish them the best of luck in prison…don’t drop the soap…

This is the kind of stuff that makes life so hard on Black folkes who work so hard not to be stereotyped. A friend of mine who was a security guard, shot and severely wounded two criminals who robbed the Mark Doughlass Jewelry store that used to be in Towson Town Mall in 2001. The owner gifted his bravery with a brand new Rolex Submariner! Robbing this jewelry store in broad daylight shows absolutely no fear of prsecution. Something Maryland is famous for. This small state is a criminal paradise. Would have been nice if an off-dute cop had been around or my friend was still working security–with his .45 to blow them away. I hate criminals–especially black ones who unfortunately turn back the gains of the Civil Rights Movement and make black persons like me to be looked upon as suspicious. I’ll bet these are hard core criminals from Baltimore or DC.

I hear you, Martin Luther King, Jr. sacrificed all to help his race, and in a way all races, so we all can just be regular people and not look at skin color.

  5. Raymond says:

Who is dumb enough to walk into a mall and rob from a Jewelry Store? These three are obviously idiots, but I mean come on… did they not think that there would be cameras I don’t know… EVERYWHERE… in the mall. I’m sure they’ll be apprehended fairly quickly.

O damn, I thought it was the same guy 3 different times. Agreed with this guy, i wanna see how this one turns out.

  7. Columbia = Choose Civility!! says:

I hate Columbia…this is just one of many reasons why, and I think its hilarious that this kind of stuff happens in a community where people feel like they are secluded from the “bad” elements…ah well, just goes to show you that nowhere is safe. Glad to hear that nobody was hurt. There are several project housing communities in Columbia…although the neighbors won’t admit that it’s projects…the police should start banging down doors there…

Sad to say but things are going to get worst! The economy is so bad that robbing a jewelry store is just the beginning by mid summer watch how the crime rate is going to be sky high! People can’t get jobs so they going to be breaking more laws its not right I agree but that’s just how its going to be

    1. Just sayin' says:

I don’t think blaming the current state of economy is the right way to go about with this crime, or crimes in general. There’s a lot of people feeling the wrath of the recession, but do all of them go and commit armed robbery? No. If you want to do something about the economy, get a job. Don’t try to get around the system by robbing people…

Either way, judging by the way these three men are dressed in the picture, they are not poor… so, I think it’s safe to assume that they are not dirt poor, or in anyway in dire need to have robbed this jewelry store in regards to “survive.”

      1. Its only right says:

your absolutely right , they are not poor.. . . .if this economy had more jobs they would not have to do crimes like this.

  9. Somebody says:

they look to be from africa or some other 3rd world country decent, so I am thinking these guys are pawns on a bigger board. ALso bringing up the point that they possibly didn’t know about the camera’s beings they do not have technology over there. Sadly these guys look like every day taxi drivers for the yellow and black cab .

    1. me says:

they are not taxi drivers at allor africans. you racist person.

Below you will see a comment I posted on a story about the The Mall in Columbia a few days ago, before I was even aware of this incident. The mall should not be a place that is easy to rob. You have to get in and out and there is usually not direct access to a major highway. Obviously, word had gotten out that The Mall in Columbia is an easy target during the day. Most of the shoppers during the day are older folks or moms with children in strollers. Trust me, they will be gone soon. As the great comedian Chris Rock says “there are white people malls and malls that white people used to go to”. This will soon be a mall that ALL law abiding citizens who care about their safety will boycott. ALL of my shopping will now be done from the confines of my safe home. And for people who say that I am being racist, go right ahead and talk. Facts are facts. Security cameras don’ lie. The Solstice store was robbed and 2 employees were tied up in the back room by young black men, the Apple store was robbed by young black men, a woman was robbed at knife point in the Macys parking garage by a young black man, and now the jewelry store was robbed at gunpoint by young black men.

“I don’t even go to the Mall in Columbia much anymore. I do most of my shopping online. I find it very uncomfortable to walk through the mall on the weekend and see the Howard County Police. Don’t get me wrong. I support the police but I don’t want to go to a mall where they HAVE to be because of the teenagers using it as their hangout spot. Even during the weekday hours it is getting scary. I was getting my sons stroller out of the car in Jan ’10 in the upstairs, just outside of Macy’s in Columba, when I saw 6 young black men (stating a fact, not being racist) running out of the mall. They had just robbed the Apple Store. If it wasn’t for me pointing out their mini van with D.C. tags, mall security and police would have had a much harder time finding them (having to look at security cameras takes time). I didn’t even get a verbal thank you from mall security for my assistance. They were obviously aware that mall security is not willing to do anything and there are no real police at the mall at that time of day. I called the Security Office a few days after this incident to express my displeasure and of course, my message was never returned. After the professor was killed at the Towson Town Ctr, just doing some Christmas shopping, I stay away from there as well. They are both very nice, clean malls with upscale stores. They need to keep ALL the trash OUT!!!!!!!!”
