ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — U.S. Naval Academy officials say the USNA Museum would close in a federal government shutdown, and athletic events would be suspended.

However, officials say this weekend’s Special Olympics event will take place as scheduled.

The academy itself will be open normal hours, as will the visitor’s center, USNA Club and Drydock.

As for the midshipmen, classes will continue, with military faculty teaching for furloughed civilian instructors.

Oh my, I’ll be tossing & turning in my sleep over this. The government needs to shut down, I hope they do. Only then maybe will the lawmakers realize the seriousness of this debt. There are way too many people on the government TIT for no good reason & the government makes nothing!!!! They only take, take take. People in this country have come to believe that every problem out there in this country can be solved by BIG government. Continue on that road folks & socialism is here. Go on strike & may the lawmakers not get paid either just like the workers.
