BLOG: Getting Warmer

Near-record warmth is on the way Monday. In the meantime we'll have some low clouds, fog and drizzle around this morning that will slowly lift today, though it will have a tough time breaking. This is from a back-door cold front that has settled just to the south of the region. There could be a few peaks of sunshine this afternoon. If there is more sunshine then it will be milder than the mid-50s we are showing now. Tomorrow we'll break into the milder sector as that front move northward, but the full push of warmth holds off until Monday. This will approach the record of 85 set in 1887. The cold front will arrive Monday night or Tuesday with a shower or thunderstorm around.

High pressure builds into the area on Wednesday and stays on Thursday. This will lead to sunshine and a
couple of comfortable afternoons.
