Man Pleads Guilty To Driving Slain Professor's Car
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Washington man who was arrested driving the Jeep of an American University professor found dead in her home has pleaded guilty to unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Court records show that Deandre Hamlin, 18, pleaded guilty on Tuesday in D.C. Superior Court. Montgomery County prosecutors dropped theft charges in the case last week. Hamlin was arrested after crashing the Jeep that belonged to Sue Ann Marcum, who was found beaten and strangled to death in her Bethesda, Md., home in October.
No one has been charged in Marcum's death. The 52-year-old taught accounting classes at American University's business school.
