Annapolis Braces For Coastal Flooding, High Winds

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Annapolis is preparing for the possibility of coastal flooding from heavy rain and winds moving through the area.

Annapolis Mayor Joshua Cohen says sandbags will be available downtown and in Eastport on Saturday. A coastal flood advisory is in effect for the area. The storm could dump more than an inch of rain in the area.

The city's Office of Emergency Management says strong southeasterly winds could contribute to coastal flooding. Some forecasts call for coastal flooding that could reach four feet.

The National Weather Service says the greatest risk of flooding comes at high tide at about 4:30 p.m.
