Md. To Conduct National Search To Replace Grasmick
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland's State Board of Education is preparing to hire a search firm to replace state school Superintendent Nancy Grasmick.
Grasmick announced late last month that she is retiring June 30 after two decades on the job. She is the nation's longest-serving appointed state education chief.
The school board said Friday that it will conduct a national search for a new superintendent. It has not said how long it expects the search process to last.
