Man Dies After He Was Found On Fire At Md. Home

FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County fire officials say a 67-year-old man has died after he was found on fire at a Fort Washington group home.

Fire department spokesman Mark Brady says a caretaker alerted by a smoke alarm found the man on fire in his room in the home on the 2800-block of Cricklewood Drive on Saturday morning.

The man was taken to the burn unit at Washington Hospital Center in critical condition with second- and third-degree burns to nearly 80 percent of his body, but he died Saturday afternoon.

Brady says investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire, but one possible factor is that the man was a smoker.
