BLOG: Tornadoes Confirmed

It's confirmed.  The National Weather Service is still completing their report, but they have confirmed 3 different tornadoes in Frederick and Carroll Counties from Saturday night.

The next storm is already moving across Maryland today.  Morning sunshine gave way to clouds and even a few sprinkles today.  Those clouds are occasionally mixing with sunshine this evening, but there will still be a lot of clouds around tonight.  That's because just as we get rid of one storm the next one will already be moving in.

Another storm moves our way tomorrow.  It will produce another widespread severe weather outbreak over the Midwest before heading toward the Mid-Atlantic.  Although the storm will be much weaker when it affects us, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible tomorrow and then again on Wednesday.  This storm is also bordering some very warm air to our south.  Highs will be within a few degrees of 70 again tomorrow, then closer to 80 on Wednesday.

We will cool back closer to normal behind the storm on Thursday, as sunshine takes over again.  Thursday will be a break day for us before the next storm moves in.  Clouds will take over again on Friday, then some rain and even thunderstorms are possible as this storm passes through Friday into Saturday.  Unfortunately, it looks like these storms are still lined up to keep coming our way right into next week.

ATTENTION TEACHERS AND STUDENTS:
Our 4th annual Weather Field Trip Day at Camden Yards is right around the corner. This year, it will be Thursday, May 26. If you are unfamiliar with the program, it's a day full of fun. We start out with an action, graphics-filled weather program on the field that features helpers like Nicole Sherry (head groundskeeper), Chris Strong from the National Weather Service and, of course, the Bird. Then, everyone takes a lunch break before enjoying an afternoon Orioles game.
