Prayer At Md. County Board Meeting Will Continue

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) — A sectarian prayer said at the start of meetings of the Carroll County Board of Commissioners will continue.

The commissioners on Thursday night decided against implementing a draft policy proposed by Tim Burke, the acting county attorney.

The policy would have prevented the prayer from using language that advances or disparages any one particular faith. It also would have prevented the prayer from being listed on the official meeting agenda, and no would be required to stand or participate in any prayer.

Board President Doug Howard says the board will include the prayer policy in a future larger discussion about the board’s meeting structure.

Would you take prayer out of the meeting if God left Howard County?
When you have answered that question, then you will know how to proceed.

Or Carrol County or Baltimore County or Baltimore City?

If someone doesn’t want to pray, let them leave the mtg, go take a smoke or better yet, let government stop being hyprocites. Frankly God does not belong in government at any level or religion. Even Jesus said to keep them separate. This B.S. about the supreme court ruling prayer out of this , out of that sends skewered messages to the people. Our currency says “In God we trust” but it’s really not true, its the money that is the god. All or noting & I vote complete withdrawl from all government.
