Man Who Killed Landlord Not Criminally Responsible
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A man who told police he had slain a warlock when he shot his landlord has been found not criminally responsible for the crime.
Neal Manning, 41, of Pasadena pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the killing of his landlord and roommate, Harry Wagner, 57.
On Wednesday, Anne Arundel County Circuit Judge Paul Hackner found Manning lacked the capacity to understand the criminality of the killing.
Hackner ordered Manning committed to a state facility.
Prosecutors said Manning called 911 just after midnight on Jan. 4 and said he just shot and killed a "warlock" who had been tormenting him for months at their home in Pasadena.
