BLOG: What A Beautiful Break In The Weather!

After a week of absolute weather devastation and disaster across a lot of the country, including 10 confirmed tornadoes in Virginia and Maryland (with four of them in Maryland), we finally got a beautiful spring day. High pressure took over the Mid-Atlantic and highs rose into the upper 60s. However, there is already a new storm to the west moving this way.

The next storm is not going to be anything like the last one for us. It will slowly edge our way tomorrow and Monday. Expect more clouds to come in tomorrow and just the chance for a shower or two. Then, there will be even more clouds with the chance for a couple of showers on Monday. But neither of these days will be very wet, we are just talking about the chance for spotty showers.

The entire storm will really wrap up and move our way Tuesday into Wednesday. Rain and even some thunderstorms will roll through here, while knocking down temperatures. Highs will be back down in the 60s Tuesday and Wednesday. The storm will get out of here Thursday for another brief break before yet another storm moves our way late in the week/next weekend.

ATTENTION TEACHERS AND STUDENTS:

Our fourth annual Weather Field Trip Day at Camden Yards is right around the corner. This year, it will be Thursday, May 26. If you are unfamiliar with the program, it's a day full of fun. We start out with an action, graphics-filled weather program on the field that features helpers like Nicole Sherry (head groundskeeper), Chris Strong from the National Weather Service and, of course, the Bird. Then, everyone takes a lunch break before enjoying an afternoon Orioles game.
