Car, Dump Truck Accident Kills Driver
GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Authorities are investigating an accident involving a car and a dump truck in Germantown in which an 18-year-old man was killed.
Montgomery County police spokesman Capt. Paul Starks says a car was struck by a dump truck about 1 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Germantown and Middlebrook roads. He says the 18-year-old driver of a car was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities have identified the victim as Ivar Ramiro Candia of Germantown.
Police say two others in the car also were injured, including a 33-year-old man who is in critical condition and a 17-year-old who is in stable condition.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
