13 Years For Stun Gun Attack On Pregnant Md. Woman

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Monrovia woman has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for attacking her boyfriend's pregnant daughter-in-law with a stun gun.

Christine DeVaux, 39, was sentenced Tuesday in Montgomery County Circuit Court in Rockville.

She pleaded guilty in December to first-degree assault and first-degree burglary in the attack last June on Lynae Mattson, 29, of Damascus.

Investigators say DeVaux repeatedly shot Mattson with the stun gun after sneaking into her home and covering the kitchen floor with plastic bags. Mother and baby survived the attack.

DeVaux was arrested in a Frederick motel. Inside her home, police found a rifle, 150 rounds of ammunition, 50 feet of wire and some pepper spray.

Investigators say DeVaux believed Mattson's growing family was interfering with her relationship with Mattson's father-in-law.
