DARGAN, Md. (AP) — Washington County authorities say a young child has been flown to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore after a car hit a house near the western Maryland town of Dargan.
The child was among three people injured in the incident shortly before 9 p.m. Monday.
Deputies say Alison Ferreira, 28, of Sharpsburg was driving the car carrying two passengers, ages 3 and 5. Both children were in child restraints.
Police say the car was traveling south on Chestnut Grove Road when it crossed the center line, hit a mailbox, rolled across a yard and a planting box and hit the front porch.
Deputies say Ferreira and one child were taken to the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. The other was flown to Baltimore.
