Cumberland Gets 5th Ambulance
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- The Cumberland Fire Department's new ambulance is almost ready for duty.
The 2011 model has an interior that was custom designed by paramedics and a firefighter. Firefighter/EMT Steve Hout says he and others made it more user-friendly.
The paramedics went to the manufacturing plant in Ohio and made some last-minute modifications for the vehicle.
The ambulance, the department's fifth, will be in service by the end of May.
The $215,000 ambulance is being paid for out of the department's operating budget and with grant money.
