D.C. Police Say Father Killed Md. Girl Found In Trash

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The father of a 17-year-old Maryland girl whose body was found in a trash barrel last year in Washington's Columbia Heights neighborhood has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

D.C. police announced Saturday they had arrested Rodney J. McIntyre, 45, of southeast Washington in the killing.

Police Chief Cathy Lanier says forensic and electronic evidence had been gathered in the death of Ebony Franklin of Capitol Heights, Md. Franklin lived with her mother in Prince George's County and was reported missing last Nov. 27. When Franklin was found in a trash barrel in an alley, she had been fatally stabbed.

Lanier says there was "evidence of a sexual relationship" between McIntyre and his daughter. Lanier declined to describe a motive in the girl's death.
