2 Maryland Ikea Stores Going Solar

BALTIMORE (AP) — Swedish retailer Ikea says two Maryland stores are among a half dozen site that are going solar.

The Maryland stores that will have solar energy systems installed are in College Park and outside of Baltimore. The other
locations are a store and office complex in Conshohocken, Pa., and stores in Philadelphia and West Chester, Ohio.

The company says installation is expected to be completed this fall if permits are approved. The six installations will total more than 5 megawatts and contain more than 22,000 panels.

Ikea says the new systems join a number of solar energy and solar hot water systems already installed nationwide.
