Hail Causes $250,000 In Damage To Dealership's Vehicles

HANCOCK, Md. (AP) -- A Hancock car dealer says a storm that produced golfball-sized hail caused $250,000 in damage to 80 vehicles on his lot.

Stephen Douglas, owner of Douglas Motors, says the storm started about 5:30 p.m. Thursday. He says hail dented many cars, although others, including one whose rear window was shattered, had as much as $8,000 in damage.

New and used cars, as well as cars belonging to customers, were damaged.

Douglas says he and his employees were inside during the storm, so there were no injuries.
