Police ID Md. Teen Who Drowned In Park

HAVRE DE GRACE, Md. (AP) -- Harford County police have identified a 16-year-old who drowned in a Havre de Grace Park.

Police say Michael Sawyer of Havre de Grace was apparently swimming Saturday afternoon with friends at the park about 20 yards from shore when he went under. Police spokesman Jeff Gilpin says rescue divers from the Susquehanna Hose Company found his body around 4:15 p.m.

The police spokesman says the death is being investigated, but it does not appear that drugs, alcohol, or foul play were factors. Investigators are awaiting toxicology reports from the medical examiner's office.
