BLOG: Here We Go Again

After tying the all-time May record of 98 degrees yesterday, we are on our way back up again today. At 2 p.m., it's already 95 degrees outside. And we are still climbing. The record for today is 96 degrees. We will likely break that record and may even come close to yesterday's 98 degrees. When you factor in the high dewpoints/humidity, it will feel more like the low 100s outside.

A heat advisory continues until 8 p.m. A code orange air quality alert also continues through this evening for the entire state. Even though it's going to be hot and muggy again tomorrow, we will probably not be at the same level. That's because a cold front is going to come through tomorrow.

The cold front coming through tomorrow will have strong to possibly severe thunderstorms with it. In fact, the Storm Prediction Center has put most of Maryland in a slight risk area for severe thunderstorms. If any watches or warnings come out, we will pass them along to you both on wjz.com and the TV side.

The cold front will get out of here by Thursday. It will knock down temperatures for the second half of the week, but it's still going to be warm. The average high is 79 degrees but we will be well above that right into next weekend.
