Man Blabs On Phone That He’s Wanted, Is Arrested

DELMAR, Md. (AP) — The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says a man who talked loudly in his motel room about being a fugitive was arrested after other guests turned him in.

It happened early Tuesday at the Traveler’s Motel in Delmar.

Deputies say guests there heard a man yelling during a phone conversation that there was a warrant for his arrest and called police.

Richard R. Vermalyea, 32, of Rehoboth Beach, Del. was arrested and ordered held on two open warrants in Cecil County, Md. One was for failure to appear in a theft case and other for violation of probation.

    This is what is missing in Baltimore City. People caring enough to pick up the damn phone when they know something is wrong. I am proud of these people and the Sheriff.
