Ocean City Sees Record Number Of Visitors

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Ocean City officials say a record number of people visited the resort over the Memorial Day weekend.

Officials estimate that 281,895 people came to Ocean City. Ocean City Communications Director Donna Abbott says there has not been a crowd that big since 1993 when an estimated 278,468 people visited the town.

Abbott says town officials had been expecting only about 250,000 people to visit last weekend.
