Blues Festival Marks 16th Year In Hagerstown, Md.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The city of Hagerstown is rolling out the welcome mat to blues fans.

The Western Maryland Blues Fest begins Thursday evening with a performance in the downtown University Plaza.

There will be music Friday night and all day Saturday in the city center, and Sunday afternoon in the City Park band shell.

There's an international flavor to the 16th annual event. The headliners are British guitar slinger Davy Knowles, fellow Brit Joanne Shaw Taylor and Serbian-born blues woman Ana Popovic.
