Pedestrian Struck And Killed Near Cromwell Light Rail Station

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ)—  A pedestrian was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon while traveling north on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard.

Around 2:30 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police arrived at 7390 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. near Cromwell Light Rail Station, where they found Douglas Frank Pohlman lying in the roadway with life- threatening injuries.

Pohlman was transported by ambulance to Shock Trauma where he later died from his injuries.

The investigation determined speed was not a factor, as it appears the vehicle was traveling under the posted speed limit.

While Pohlman did cross the roadway between two designated crosswalks that are marked with operating pedestrian signals, the primary cause of the crash is listed as pedestrian error.
