Tunisian Ambassador Speaking In Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Tunisia's ambassador to the United States is offering his views on the so-called Arab Spring during a visit to Frederick Community College.

Mohamed Salah Tekaya is scheduled to give the keynote address Wednesday at a daylong course on the Tunisia uprising and related events in the Middle East and North Africa.

The movement that drove out Tunisian dictator Zine el-Abidine Ben Ali last winter marked the start of popular uprisings in the region.

The ambassador is sharing his perspective on the events in Tunisia. He also is speaking about the longstanding relationship between his country and the United States.
