WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (AP) — A German journalist reported missing from his Maryland home last month has been found dead in a rural part of northern Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania State Police say Joachim Rogge, 53, was found dead Tuesday in Armstrong Township, Lycoming County.
Lt. David Young says Rogge’s death does not appear suspicious but investigators are not releasing a cause of death.
Police say a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation worker spotted something suspicious and alerted police. Rogge’s body was recovered from a wooded area.
Rogge was reported missing from his Bethesda, Md. home on May 31. A family spokeswoman told The Baltimore Sun that Rogge left home three days earlier following a domestic dispute.
Rogge was a correspondent for WAZ Mediengruppe, a German media company.
