2 Men Rescued After Boat Capsizes Near Hancock

HANCOCK, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say two men were rescued from the Potomac River near Hancock after their boat capsized.

Hancock Fire Chief Greg Yost says the men were aboard a 10-to-12-foot-long flat-bottomed boat. On Sunday morning, some boats passed by them and created a wake that filled the small vessel with water, causing it to capsize.

Yost says both men were wearing life jackets that were too small, and one didn't know how to swim. They were rescued around 9 a.m. Sunday. Yost says they were shaken up but weren't otherwise injured.
