Lt. Gov. Visiting Western Md. Mining Supplier

GRANTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- The O'Malley administration is spotlighting a western Maryland supplier of products to the mining industry.

Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown was scheduled to make a visit Monday to Pillar Innovations LLC in Grantsville.

The privately owned company is a subsidiary of locally based Beitzel Corp. It specializes in electronic controls, fire-suppression, telecommunications, fiber optics and electric utility vehicles for mining companies.

The company also has operations in Colorado, New Mexico, Indiana, and West Virginia.

Brown's office says he plans to tour the company's facilities and hear about its plans for the future.
