Penn National To Sell Md. Jockey Club Interests

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Penn National Gaming, Inc. has announced it will sell its interests in the Maryland Jockey Club.

Penn National made the announcement on Thursday. The Maryland Jockey Club is the operator of Laurel Park and
Pimlico Race Course, home of the Preakness Stakes, which is the second leg of the Triple Crown.

Penn National announced it will sell its interests in the jockey club to Stron-MJC Limited Partnership, which is owned by Frank Stronach.

Peter Carlino, Penn National's chief executive officer, says while the company is divesting its interest in the jockey club,
Penn National remains committed to racing in Maryland. The company acquired Rosecroft Raceway in Oxon Hill earlier this year. The company also owns the Hollywood Casino in Perryville.
