Baltimore's Most Photogenic Baby Contest To Benefit Johns Hopkins Children's Center

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WJZ) -- If you think you have a beautiful baby, you might want to head to Marley Station Mall this weekend for Baltimore's Most Photogenic Baby Contest.

Ron Matz has more on a picture perfect way to help the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

Meet Christian Jones. Last year he was named Baltimore's Most Photogenic Baby. He has the trophies to prove it. Proud parents Stacey and Fred couldn't believe it.

"Well, first when they called his name, I said, 'Is there more than one Christian?' Then they kept calling his name and I said, 'Is it us?' I was just happy he won one and then they called his name three more times. I think I was more excited than the both of them put together," said Stacey Jones, 2010 winner's mom.

The contest is underway at Marley Station Mall. It's a benefit for the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

Julie Matthews is the casting director.

"This is our 19th year searching for Baltimore's Most Photogenic Baby. Right here in Baltimore the money goes to the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. We've raised almost a quarter of a million dollars here, so it's really cool," said Matthews. "All you have to do is bring your children -- infants through age five -- to Marley Station Mall this weekend. We're there through Sunday. No appointment is necessary."

Christian Jones was just two when he took home all the hardware.

"I never won anything like this in my life. To see my son win this is a humbling experience. He loves his trophies. He always wants to hold his trophies. He's enjoying this," said Fred Jones, 2010 winner's dad.

"It's great. Considering he was only 2 year old last year, I thought it was a big accomplishment. It never hurts to win and help out a good cause," said Stacey Jones.

Over the past 18 years the contest has raised a quarter of a million dollars in Baltimore, so the big winner is the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.

It's a good cause with kids helping kids.

"Bring a few different outfits because we have four different categories: Most Precious, Most Comical, Most Beautiful and Most Fashionable. Your children get a professional modeling photo shoot with a fashion photographer," said Matthews. "The photos we take this weekend will be on display a month from now for the judging and voting. There's a $35 entry fee, but parents do get to keep the photos that are used in the contest."

The contest continues Friday through Sunday at Marley Station Mall.
