FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) — The mayor of Frostburg says he’s retiring midway through his third consecutive term.
Arthur Bond, 79, made the announcement Thursday.
He said in a written statement that “the time has come” for him to step down.
Bond has served more than 30 years in various elected positions with the city and Allegany County.
He continues to work in his family’s home-improvement business.
The City Council will appoint one of its members to serve the last 11 months of Bond’s two-year term.
