Faith-Based Borrowing Training Session Scheduled
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A training session to help representatives of the faith-based community better understand foreclosure and financing issues is scheduled in Baltimore.
Maryland Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., is scheduled to attend the event on Tuesday. It's a follow-up to meetings he has convened with lenders and financial regulators on financial issues affecting the faith-based community.
The training session will include a dialogue between faith-based institutions and lenders.
A "Borrowing Guide for Faith-Based Institutions" will be released at the training session. It's being described as a first-of-its-kind guide to help faith-based institutions develop successful lending relationships with banks and other financial entities.
