BLOG: What Great Weather!

Happy 4th of July weekend! And what great weather we have had so far this holiday weekend.

After a warm, beautiful day with very low humidity yesterday, we had a repeat today. A small cluster of thunderstorms did develop over southern PA that have drifted into Washington and Allegany counties this afternoon/evening. There is the chance for another shower or thunderstorm tonight, but a much better chance tomorrow as a cold front moves our way.

Temperatures will still get to near 90 degrees tomorrow, while the dewpoints/humidity climb considerably. This will set the stage as the cold front moves into Maryland. Some showers or thunderstorms could pop up at any point during the day, with most of the action in the afternoon/evening. The front will slow down as it moves through tomorrow, stalling out just to our south on Monday and Tuesday. With the front close enough, there is still the chance for a shower or thunderstorm on the 4th and Tuesday (best chance being south since the front will be south) even though it's much less of a chance over tomorrow.

The front will eventually wash out and leave for mid-week, just as a new front moves our way. There could be a thunderstorm ahead of the front Wednesday with a better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms with the front itself on Thursday. Temperatures will vary a little, but it will remain warm through this forecast.

Have a safe and wonderful weekend everyone!
