Rising Sun Seeks Restitution From Convicted Mayor

RISING SUN, Md. (AP) -- Rising Sun officials have filed a four-count civil lawsuit against former Mayor Sandra Didra seeking to recover $118,723 they claim she stole from the town.

Didra was found guilty of felony theft by scheme and embezzlement in March. Sentencing, originally set for June 30, has
been rescheduled for Aug. 26.

The suit says Didra was a town employee from Nov. 8, 1971, until Dec. 31, 2009 and the restitution claim addresses the period from Jan. 1, 1995, to Dec. 31, 2009, when Didra was town clerk-treasurer and later town clerk.
