Baltimore Preparing For 30th Artscape Festival

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore's 30th Artscape festival is this weekend.

Organizers say the three-day festival is the nation's largest free arts festival, attracting 350,000 people and 150 artists, fashion designers, craftspeople and visual art exhibits. The festival also features concerts on outdoor stages, as well as hands-on projects, street theater, children's entertainment, and vendors selling an international array of food and beverages.

Southern Culture on the Skids and G Love & Special Sauce will play Saturday night on the festival's main stage.

Artscape begins Friday and runs through Sunday in a 12-block area around the city's Mount Royal neighborhood. The festival opens at noon each day and closes at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 8 p.m. on Sunday.
