Officer Struck On I-83 Out Of Rehab

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Baltimore police officer who fell 30 feet after being knocked over an embankment on Interstate 83 last month has been released from rehabilitation.

A Baltimore City Police spokeswoman tells The Baltimore Sun that Officer Teresa Rigby was placed into a rehabilitation unit less than a week after the June 21 crash in which a driver lost control and struck the officer's police cruiser. Rigby, who was standing on the highway's northbound shoulder, was knocked over a retaining wall and into a parking lot below.

Rigby underwent several surgeries at Maryland Shock Trauma Center before going into rehab.
