About 20 Cats Killed At Constitution Park

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Officials say about 20 cats died excruciating deaths when they were poisoned recently at Constitution Park.

Allegany County shelter manager Karl Brubaker tells the Cumberland Times-News that the poison put out for the cats on the sidewalk led to painful deaths. The poisonings cut the cat colony population to about eight animals.

Cumberland Mayor Brian Grim called the incident horrific.
