Body Found In Debris A Week After Fire Identified

CLEAR SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Authorities have identified the body found in the rubble of a house more than a week after a fire.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said on Thursday that the body found in June 7 was that of Henry McMullen, 61, formerly of Chambersburg, Pa. The body was found after a May 27 fire, when the debris from the blaze was being removed.

Bruce Bouch, spokesman for the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, tells The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown that McMullen was the husband of the woman who leased the house. Authorities say Robin McMullen was out of state when the fire occurred, and that she said no one should have been in the home.

The cause of Henry McMullen's death and the fire are still under investigation.
