Resort Names Contractor For Boardwalk Wood

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- The Ocean City town council voted to contract with Grasmick Lumber of Baltimore to supply more than 56,000 pieces of wood for the first part of the Boardwalk reconstruction project.

The town will pay $602,650 for more than 56,000 pieces of wood.

The council also voted to contract with TimberSIL to supply about $40,000 of wood treated with new technology that would be used on one block of the Boardwalk. The wood would be evaluated to see if it lasts longer.

The council voted 5-1 on Monday.
